Any idea what causes this?

My friends mbuna seem to get these bumps on their lip and he asked me, but i don’t know, so I figured you guys might know

Thanks, that would make sense, his tank is over crowded, even by mbuna standards

Lip locking won't do that (I was thinking that before because my GT had a great fight and they hurted each other), I woul think that's because of scratching on sharp object, looks like a wound to me!

I hope, not any unknown diseases!
