So this morning I flipped the light on my tank on to this....they've been battling a mild case of ich since I brought them home, I've been using the salt/elevated water temperature as treatment and they were improving. Actually all white spots had been gone for a few days. Today I see this, white splotches on the fins and body, I'm guessing some kind of secondary infection? Any advice on treatment would be much appreciated.

No carbon in the filters. 86 degree temp, aquarium salt, 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons. Next day, 10% water change, redue steps. Ich should remain gone. Drop temp down to 82 and see what happens the following week. Replace carbon

right now the tank is at 85, and it's been there for the last week, I've got 1tbsp/5 gallons of salt, melafix, pimafix, and stress coat were added today, the fish seem to be ok, 2/3 are exhibiting the white blotches but don't seemed to be very effected by it, both still have normal healthy appetites.

I would take two routes here depending on what you want to do:
1. treat the tank with paraguard, its good for bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections-it will deal with that secondary fungus or bacteria, whichever it is and also serve to completely eradicate any ich left free swimming in the tank.

2. if you don't want to treat the entire tank, I would do a dipbath with methylene blue. Will take care of the infection.
