One of my Altums had an injured scale and what looked like a parasite on it. I pulled the fish and removed the object. You can see the scale for reference.

It does not seem segmented, and doesnt have a Y shape to it like an anchir worm. There also doesnt seem to be a head.

The picture was taken under a magnifying glass.

There is also one that seems buried in it's top fin, but that was more invasive than I wanted to try and remove.

Hard to say what it is. Does look parasitic. Angelfish wild? Can try seachem paruagard and methylene blue dip.

Ok, so after it had been out of the water for a couple hours I poked it with the tweezers and it crunched.... I feel like any kind of worm should have been deflated and gooey. I am kind of leaning towards an errant pectoral barb from my L330 pleco, but Im not sure what the base of the barbs look like, and I didnt see a pointed hook on the tip, but that could have broke off I guess.

The barbs on the pectoral are much shorter and less barbed than the cheek ones.

Let’s hope just a barb then. If ur able to get it off then just monitor.
