I Bought this fish as a RedcTexas Ciclid but it never got red. Looks like a Flowerhorn but is not. I am sure is a hybrid, but from what fish.
Any idea what type of fish is this?

YEs, bought it at a Pet Shop. I guess the pet shop owner bought it from a supplier in US. The fish is very agresive like a Red Devil and as big like an adult male Red Devil. The horn is growing big ( nice bump in the head) and he try to mate with a female red devil but no babies, cause he is a hyhrid, the eggs did not hash. Sometimes he get a bit red, other times lines will show in the body. but he is mostly grey like the picture.
MAybe 2 times, but now he is trying to mate with another red devil female. I have a small Texas female that when it get older I will mix with this Unknown fish and see if the spawns together.. I used to have a male hybrid,have Texas and have managuense,what a beuty that was, very agresive.

NO I dont, I wish. That was like 10 years ago. The fish body looks like a Managuensis with small bump in the head. The color was grey with light green little spots, like a green Texas. Not sure wish fish was the father or mother. I bought it in a pet shop and the attendance told me about the mix, a client give the babies to her. My friend bought another one that became a female, He give it to me and my fish and his try to mate but my fish end up killing my friends female. Then I moved my fish to a 200 gal tank where a large Red Devil was the king. Well, after some time this hybrid kick my Red Devils ass, big time. The fish was so agresive that he will bite an fight my hand every time I put my hand in the tank. It was a fun fish
By any chance do you know how to distinguish the sex of a Red Piranhas? Thanks
If this is directed toward me. Nope sorry. Piranhas are not my specialty. But in general female fish will tend to be thicker more rounded and males more slim. This is just an observation from most species of fish. There may be a better way to tell but I don't know.
