any ideas about this weird growth on fin?

hey everyone... one of my tropheous has a weird growth on his fin. it does not look cottony, or like a fungus. it has been growing outwards away from the fish, but is not spreading up or down the fin. i tried to get a picture, but he is to fast. i will try again later, but these are what i did get

after cruising on the web for most of the day, i did find some info on Lymphocystis Virus

this is the closest thing i can find to what the little guy has... i think?!?!

I have the same problem with one of my small ilangi. I was wondering what that was. If its contagious like the article said, I'll remove before it infect the colony.

Looks bacterial related, maybe try melafix ??

no luck with melafix or primafix... it just kept getting bigger. last night when i got home, it was gone, and there was just a small hole in the fin were that originally was

as for infectious...it says its highly species dependent... so i think it might not affect other fish as long as they not the same species
