So i bought this guy (or gal) when it was a small fry about the size of a dime....not knowing what it may look like...only paid $4.67...I have had it for about 2 months now....any idea what I may have??

Looks like a regular shortbody ZZ to me, and I agree with Big_One, it does look to be a female.
 
Updated pic....been feeding 100% Hikari bio gold.... very pointed anal and dorsal fin...still think its a girl??? thinking about getting a male if you folks are sure.

You can never identify flowerhorns like CA/SA cichlid by the shape of their fins. Just wait and see if he/she will lay eggs for you...no need to rush on it. :D

Most discus can thrive in harder water now, due to breeding in captivity:D
