I got some sheep pacu back in June to put with my rays. Did fine in Quarantine and no issues. When I put them in to the main tank with my Rays one developed some fungus on its fins and mouth. I treated with salt and heat and it went away for a while but then came back. It eventually died. Felt it was just bad immune system and no others were affected. I then about a week ago noticed some white speckle patches on the body of another one of the Pacu which even with treating with salt it has progressively worse. There is little to no chance of getting this guy out to quarantine so looking for some idea on what it is and how to treat it safely with rays. No other fish are affected.

Rays don't seem to be prone to many of the diseases that boney fish get. Remember, rays are cartilaginous fish, and aren't physiologically very similar to the teleosts (ray finned fish). I would monitor the rays and hold off treatment unless you see symptoms. Especially if you are not even sure what you're treating. That can be a recipe for disaster.
