any ideas on what kind of cichlid my black one is he changes colors from tan to tan and vertical black stripes to all black and then black with white and orange underbelly. p.s they have layed eggs

Well, I suppose you could consider a blood parrot a 'feeder fish'........if you own a Tiger shovelnose catfish, or something similarily big and piscivorous.

I have yet to see a successfull cross between a severum and CA cichlid. I'll beleive it when I see it! The blood parrot looks to be the male but supposedly many male blood parrots are sterile, so even if this cross could produce offspring (which I have my doubts), I wouldn't get hopes up to high.

Koi? Goldfish? Feeder fish??? Good lord people. Blood Parrot. The black one looks like a Severum to me as well. He's quite interesting looking though with that different orange color on his pelvic and anal fin and belly.
