I am wanting to setup my fish tank and make it look like the amazon lol. Any idea what gravel, decerations, filteration, lighting any of those would help. Thanks

Use sand...or crushed coral Mich better look...also are you wanting to go with real or faux plants? Also either a rootball or drift wood...slate it good too to make structure...

sand pea pebble mix for substrate..... big piece of driftwood(for tannis)10'000k bulb +blue actinic bulb...any filtration you like that keeps ammonia ,nitrites at 0 ....and keeps water as clear as you want....

The amazon has several (many) very distinctive biotopes.

Here are some ideas.

Some areas of the amazon are slow moving and others fast. Some have plants and clear water, others are tea colored with only deadwood and driftwood, others are brown colored from the dirt. Substrates include sand, mud, rock and gravel. Also, overhead canopies can include branches and flowering plants.

Really, one can go crazy with all the options.

Agreed. I love a rocky/mud look packed with drift wood but the tank will be brown.
