Leaving for a business for six weeks and im kinda nervous on what i should do with my fish. I have two O's, a GT and a RTC in a 150g tank. Any ideas on what i should do to feed them and keep them alive for that long till i return. I would have my gf do it, but shes returning back up north to see my family and hers. Any 2 cents would be nice. thanks!

If you girlfriend never did a water change before don't trust her with out you. Have her to off the water and feed the fish every other day. Portion at the food for her. If you are worried about ammonia or nitrates give her a detoxifying pad to add after a few weeks.

I've seen advertisements about outfits that maintain your tank for you ... at least around where I live. Plus a couple LFS around me, will do it as well. That is if you don't know anyone around you personally. It'll probably cost a penny or two, but at least your water maintenance and such would be kept up to date. Plus that way they could contact you if needed should anything arise ... mind you its strangers in your home while your not there. But you could always have a friend there when they're scheduled to arrive. Just an idea ... never tried it myself but I've seen the ads around up here. 6 weeks is a long time to be away.

Hmmmm....ill deff look into that thanks! I just hate having other people mess with my stuff you know? and if anything happens its just GRRRR haha

6 weeks a pretty long time. If you have no one who can come by once a week to feed them. I have seen people take there fish to there LFS for them to watch them while on vacation.

yeah i talked to some LFS and they want a pricey penny to watch my fish at their shop i think its kinda crazy imo

I'd look around for aquarium maintenance places. It's weird having people in your house I understand, but it's probably the best way.

yeah I went to 3 LFS and they said one said they wanted atleast 110 a week to watch all my fish and feeding and they cant guarantee that they will be alive when I come back...I never bought fish from them so im not sure. Anoter said 75 a week and I forgot how much the other place is but nothing worth it so im not sure
