seen tanzaniae before http://opefe.com/hydrocynus.html

while on the topic of "other hydrocynus" was at the LFS last week. He said he had a "black atf". I just about carped myself cos thought he meant bgatf. but then he said the fish I was looking infront of me in the tank was the black tail variant he was talking about. Looked like a brevis (coloring) to me. a small fish, about 3 inches. He said when it reaches maturity, the tail is black with white outline on top and bottom of tail fin. It's tail did have the white outline, some black hue in it, red on lower portion. Dunno validity. if true, may be it's one of the fish you've listed.

never heard of the first one.
tanzaniae is one of the smaller species if i remember right.
vittiger?
sounds like they just put tiger and vittatus together...

from memory, i read most 'other' atf more or less look like vatf save for collection point and things like scale/ray count... only fish/photos I've seen are of VATF/FATF, BATF, GATF, and Black GATF.

I looked at my brevis again today and found it has the white outline. So pretty sure the "black tail atf" is aka brevis. speaking of which, one of the two brevis is missing, with out a trace...
