Any issues using stainless steel clamps in aquariums? I am connecting a pump to piping with these clamps in the sump. It will be submerged. Is there any risk of leaching harmful particles to the fish with stainless steel.

I've used stainless steel worm clamps that were submerged in water to keep a vinyl hose connected to a pump output. They will show corrosion after a certain period of time. You can't stop it from forming on non-moving pieces like clamps. Just inspect the clamps weekly during your maintenance, and have spares to be ready to replace or better yet, replace the clamps yearly.

watch for the screw mechanism rusting. I know they say stainless but not all stainless is rust proof and I think they cheap out on that piece.

You can also use plastic hose clamps.

I've been switching over to Oetiker clamps for their lower profile.

Looks like there are titanium hose clamps as well.

I’ve never had great success with plastic clamps holding significant pressure like pumps but titanium sounds like it would work. Unfortunately, it also sounds expensive

Yup, I'd go with plastic hose clamps, especially on something low pressure like an aquarium water pump and where the fitting is usually barbed.

You can buy, full 304 or 316 real saltwater approved stainless. They are completely non magnetic.

The worm screw is not stainless in the lower end ones, even though the band is stainless.

It’s to attach a 5000 gph pump so not exactly low pressure.

I've used stainless steel strainers in filters before, and they rusted. My advice would be to go with something plastic.
