The title says it all. Let me know if you've had any luck keeping plants with your silver dollars. Either plants that grow quickly enough, or those with a taste that fish despise. I heard some have had luck with java fern, but no such luck here. Primarily interested in plants which don't require special lights or CO2 setup. Trying to keep it simple for now.

Plastic. Anything else is a salad bar for them.

I have a red hook sd that is kept with java ferns, christmas moss , and for a while jungle val , but my oscar decided to dispose of it.

My red hooks mowed my vallisneria to the ground ... :irked:

My red hooks and black bars mow anything to the ground within hours. Tried a thick clump of jungle vals (needed to thin a tank of them anyways), and within hours there was nothing but roots left. But my M. duriventre seem to ingnore any vals that I've had floating in their tank up to this point (so far just vals and java moss).

Has anyone tried Anubias with silver dollars? I'm getting to the point where I might have to thin some Anubias barteri from another tank and have contemplated trying it with the SD's.
