Satsuma, LA.
I am looking in getting one soon, and I wanted to see pics of set-ups, etc for ideas. Also is this a good exotic Turtle to keep, I want to get a non-Us turtle and this would be my first exotic. I was thinking the MataMata would be good since its similar in care to the AST which I have experiance in, but I am open to other suggestions.

Chris(snakeguy) has one

I'll have to wait for his reply then, they have one at a store here for $125 and its a beautiful looking turtle, so tempted to get it

snap, only 125$
thats hard to refuse. is it on hold? id imagine someone would swoop that up quick.

Not many Turtle owners here, they had one last year that they got in that was perfect and it took months before it was sold.

here is mine. I am feeding him live minnows, silversides, tilapia, and small channel cats. I am keeping the water at a pH of 6-6.5 and temps around 80ºF. It is important to keep them on no substrate, sand, tile or Large river rocks. No pebbles at all, they are dangerous.

$125 is very cheap for them. wild caught babies are selling for $175 wholesale so be weary of what you are buying. make sure it is eating and healthy before you drop the cash for it.

Nice, for the PH levels I hear putting moss in the filter is best, you agree/ And yeah, I was planning on getting one if I do off of Kingsnake or from Turtlesource.

I use black water extract. Boil peat moss and use the drained water to lower the pH. You can also use that peat moss as a substrate because it will now sink but it will make your water pretty dark from the tannins. there are a thousand different ways to do it.
