Any mechanics on here?

I have a question my car won't go into drive it's stuck in park... It jus randomly did it when I stopped and there were no signs of it before jus happened at once any ideas?

Yes I'm pressing the brake and I wiggled the brake and it worked that once but now it's still stuck but it's a Mazda 626

if there isnt a shift lock bypass button next to the shifter then theres not much you can do

tow it to a mech

if the cable popped off you may be able to pop it back on...can you see the lingage at the transmission

Where exactly is the linkage at? Do I have to take off anything? Instead if talkin on here can u jus call me so it will go by faster cuz I'm Hoyt to go outside n look at it

im bout to clock back in at work so i cant call.

Check brake switch/brake light switch, it unlocks the shifter when u depress the brakes, you can also stick your key in the shift lock to shift it, it should be near or next to the shifter if it's on the center console.
