Any metal workers / casters?

Hey guys. As title suggests does anyone work with metal on here?

My best friend is very into metal working and forging and I into woodwork, and we are looking at building some tools or weapons together with a DIY forging setup he has created. He works most of the metal and I can work on wood handles and hilts. He's a historical weapon nut

I'm very interested in casting metals, possibly making jewellery and so on out of cheaper metals and plating it with electrolysis or whatever

Anyway anyone else working metals and stuff as a job or hobby?

Hello; Do you happen to get the TV series "Forged In Fire" ? It is the only reality show I care for. Four smiths make knives from raw materials in six hours. The knife makers are also good at making the handles that are as often as not made from materials other than wood.

I have torches and a couple of welders, but no forge.

Hello; May I suggest a tour of a foundry if such is available to you area. I took some select high school students to an area foundry. Quite an eye opener.

Lead casting is fairly simple in that it can be done with propane. Some friends cast lead bullets.
