Any mid/top water oddballs for a 55g centerpiece?

I have a 55g with a few small catfish. Im looking for a single or a small group of oddball fish to use the mid or top water. an 8" dwarf arowana would be great but im just dreaming. any suggestions?

Pike top minnows,african butterfly fish and needle fish are a couple what kind of cats do u have? Also jeff rapps has some roeboides guatemalensis. There are also some really cool and color head standers.

Aquascape has freshwater pipefish those are some true oddballs.

I second african butterfly fish Pantodon buchholzi, very cool smaller oddball, 100% top dweller looks . They remind me of a mini aro with long fins!
