so i own 2x flameback 2x electric yellow 2x venustus 2x dragon blood peacocks 2x bristlenose catfish. there all babies atm around 2cm probably 4cm for the peacocks.

can anyone help me pick out a few other good community africans please??? nothing to big but would love some nice clolourfull fish : )

nice website and information also nice people : )

would love to hear from all of you guys.

tank size is a 4x2x2 so yer i got good filteration i spent 100 dollars on it so i wouldnt have a clue what its called. it cleaned up the tank within 30 minutes. also i got a sponge filter.

get some peaceful mbuna like zebras or other peacocks are always bright blue, orange, and yellow, but you can't tell at how small you have them.
other vics
try to stay away from melanochromis like auratus, cyaneorhabdos, or johanni...they can be pretty...and pretty mean too...
and maybe some other nimbochromis...but you will need a bigger tank anyways for those.

thanks for your reply spyke thanks for warning me i was gonna go back to my lfs and buy a few of those melanochromis. but i know now : )

Mubuna are far from peaceful. Moori are cool. Mubuna are very teratorial and let the aggression out on each other quite often. As they get bigger they will bully the peacocks. Who are less teratorial, its a constant battle with malawi's unless you got a big tank like a 125 gallon plus. Look at some synodontis mines over 6inches.

You can try a wide variety. Mbunas are usually one tone and have their color from birth. Peacocks all look the same when small but grow into their nice colors. They can usaully have 2-3 tones depending on the type. Here is a link to african cichlid channel. you can get some ideas. http://www.youtube.com/user/greenearthlawns
