I was thinking about maybe getting one or two Reeves or Mud/Musk Turtles and putting them in a tank with Discus and Blood Parrots.

I understand it is risky to put turtles with fish, however, I am wondering if I need to do a quarantine of the turtles first as to not bring an infection to the fish?

How do you go about quarantining turtles, such as deworming them, etc..? What diseases should I look out for.

Thanks for any help!

I've always kept turtles singly, no other turtles, no fish, etc. So I'm not sure what protocol's you should follow for quarantine. Just wanted to point out, females of the species you mention will need an area appropriate for laying eggs...even if no male is present. If they don't have such an area they will become eggbound and die. And trust me, they don't need a male to lay eggs, they'll of course be infertile, but they will indeed lay them.

Most vets recommend a 3 month quarantine for healthy turtles and six months for sick ones. In this case I might do it for a month and scrub the shell with a tooth brush to remove dirt/algae.
