The person im getting the tank from has 4 giant gourami (3 kissing and 1 regular with a stripe down its side) they are in the tank im getting sat and he said we can work a deal maybe for them since he doesnt have room for them anymore now that the big tank is going. I am not that familar with them and was curious if you think they might be good with my juvie fronts long term. They are around 8 inches or maybe a bit bigger. He said they are super peaceful, not fin nippers or chasers. He said they would be fine with my fronts. What are your thoughts ? Just want a second opinion since i know nothing about this species. BTW do they get super giant like the giant gourami i see on utube video or is that just the one regular one he has ?

i think they are pretty peacefull, the ones i had left everyone alone and did their own thing, but then that whole stock in the tank got sick and died. but they were a nice addition.

maybe i wont take them then . He said they are not nippers or chasers so i dont know what to think. I dont want my fronts nipped. They are just starting to grow their trailers now . If they nipped them i would be having kissing fish for dinner! I hear they are good fried lol. :irked:

maybe he wants to make a sale :-O haha its always the way. You should of not told him about the fronts for a non biased opinion and even said they were for an agressive tank and asked ... but yer..... you never know ;-)

I assume he would have said they are " they are pretty calm in general but big and can take care of themselves when attacked " lol

LOL. As long as your not of french decent i guess its ok lol. That would be french kissing and that I couldnt approve of lol, even with a good looking fish lol.

They are called kissing because they kiss other gouramis. This is really lip fighting. They may seem peaceful, but they nip and bit other fish. Fronts bad idea to mix with them.
