My wife and I just picked one up today!!! Heating oil is getting out of control and one day will be soooo expensive that people will freeze to death becasue they cant afford it...Going to use the oil heat to heatthe water and that s it...45000 btu we got....How does your work???

My family currently doesnt have one but my dads looking into getting one for his garage, and his boss recently got on in his garage and he likes it alot.

Grew up in a house that was heated by a corn/pellet burning stove. Since I grew up on a farm the fuel (corn) was very inexpensive, but there is a lot of maintenance to go along with it. If you've got a few extra minutes every morning (depending on model) to remove the clinker, they're awesome.

We don't have a pellet stove, but use a woodstove. I make 2 fires a day in the winter(awesome 12 hour burn time). We had a logging truck of oak dropped off 2 winters ago, still have about 4 cords left of it. It cost us $600 for the logging truck of wood. You can also commonly get scavenging permits for local parks for a nominal fee. This is the route we went, we have never used the heater in our house.

Interesting. How much do pellets cost?

we got a kozi brand..and we got 1 ton of pellets coming with it...it will be around 4 grand after installlation...

I used to have a pellet stove in a split level house. The stove was upstairs and with about 3/4 bag of pellets each day the upstairs stayed nice & toasty. I think pellets were 2 bucks a bag back then. (1999). Not sure what they cost now.

Heat? What is heat? Unfortunately I have to suffer through high electric bills for my central air unit during the summer.
