well, i posted this in breeding, but not getting a lot of answers.

hoping you guys can help out

well, yesterday i noticed my darter pair was getting real dark, almost black, and their colors came out (even the female) really bright, then they turned almost all black at around 11:00, still with their colors bright, but the base was black, then they started following each other, and the female was digging pits

sound like breeding?

Everything sounds like breeding. I'll bet they actually spawned when you saw them "dig pits".

What kind of darters?

rainbows, not as touchy as a lot of people said

i actually put them in the day i filled the tank from the outside hose, i know, im a bad fish parent

but their doing fine as of now

and if theyre spawning, i guess ive got 12-15 days of waiting, then well see what happens

last night though, they were absolutely beautiful in color

of course i will

this was a completely accidental spawn, so ill see what happens, its my first time

theyre back to normal coloration today, but they changed in a matter of minutes, so ill see if they do the same tonight and take quick pics when theyre done

they spawn exactly lilke salmon, they spawn then go to their seperate caves
