I'm going there in September with my family for a vacation and wanted to know if anyone here has been there? I know it's beautiful and that the drinking age is 18 :naughty:. Any good restaurants/bars/clubs that are good there? I don't really remember where my dad said we were staying tho... Any suggestions of what to do there? I really really want to go scuba diving but I lack the training :/ is there any other way I can get up close and personal with the beautiful marine life there? Tell me about your experiences there and what to do and what to avoid! :D

You can take a boat trip to the lands end, where the Pacific meets the Sea of Cortez and go snorkeling. There are some nice fish to see there. In town the is the Gigglin Marlin Cantina ( be careful the margaritas there will kill you). As for things to avoid
JAIL comes to mind, I was one of the lucky two in our group that didn't spend the night in jail. It was no picnic from what they told me but I would guess all jails arent much fun. Go have fun but be careful as you are in a forein country and the rules are different for gringo's

I've not been to Cabo, but I have been to Cozumel, Playa Del Carmen, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta. All I can say is have fun. Enjoy the resort and go off the resort to experience the culture. Just remember that now Mexico has a serious drug cartel issue and they are contributing to Mexico's national rise in crime. There are many things going on, which I won't get into. There is a U.S. State Department website that has information. I think the C.I.A. site also has travel information. Enjoy yourself, but be careful.

Drug problem when you say that are you referring to mexico's HUGE marijuana trade or harder drugs? Either way I think I'll be fine I have basic street smarts and common sense to stay away from that.

I went 2 years ago, stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort, it was fantastic.
Cabo is a really fun place, lots to do, and it's an even better place to do nothing if you ask me.

No, I'm referring to the Mexican Drug Cartel, which supplies the USA with crystal meth, coke and pot. Most drugs entering this country now comes from Mexico. The South American Cartel lost much of it's impact on the US drug market, with capturing and killing of kingpin, Pablo Escobar. With the profit that The Mexican Cartel makes from US drug sales, they are now expanding and entering into other areas of crime. Google it. I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just raising the point. I'm sure your father is aware of this, because it's all over the media. At one point, there was a Mexican travel advisory issued by the US State department. Go to the US State Department and CIA websites. The information is available. By the way, I'd go to Cabo in a heartbeat. I'm just saying to be aware and be careful. Enjoy yourself.

The member Armac had a lot of information on the drug and crime situation in Mexico, especially how it affects parts of the Texas border areas.Have'nt seen any recent postings of his though..Enough of the cartel stuff, you should be able to do some pretty decent snorkeling if you are not dive certified.Thats the next best thing to SCUBA.

Yeah he wouldn't let us go to Jamaica cause of the high crime rate ): I'm not really that worried i practically lived in Flint for a year and I'm moving to Detroit in a few years and those are like the 2 cities with some of the highest crime rates in Michigan lol. But yeah I don't really plan on "scoring some dope" down there so I think I'll be fine:D
