So my jewels have become super protective of the caves, wont let anyone withing about 3 inch of them. So bad that now all my fish live on the opposite side of the tank, rarely even venturing over to the cave section. If they do they are chased away unless they are at the top of the tank by the caves.

Well one of the jewels for what ever reason decided to go to the other end of the tank and pick a fight. First with my Firemouth, then with my Jack Dempsy, before he could pick on someone else the Oscar came in and shut it down. This is not the first time I have seen my Oscar come and lay down the long Fin of the law. He has checked my Texas before when he got to out of hand with the other fish.

On a side note after the Oscar chased off the jewel, the jewel came back and tried to have a stand of with the Oscar, and almost got ate.

My Jack Dempsky will stop fight between my cons. They will be fighting and he will come in and break it up.

hahaha, long fin of the law. good story

One of my basset hounds does that at the dog park

my male Port Cichlid used to do that . . . when the Carpintins and Firemouth would get into it, he would break it up and send everyone to their respective corners . . . unfortunately, after I got rid of the Firemouth, the Port Cichld began tormenting the Carpintis on his own

now I just have a pair of Port Cichlids, and a female convict that they ignore . . .
