I have a spare 10 gallon tank and was woundering if any one had luck keeping these little rodents and was woundering how bad the smell. And if you would get 2 females or 2 males ?
Any one have luck with Gerbils ?

I have gerbils and they are easy to take care of. Require most of the same stuff a hamster or mouse would need. I have 2 females and 1 male, they have babies all the time. I thought i had 3 females but i was wrongly informed. Anyways i clean thier habitat about every 3 days, they eat alot so the food bowl is empty every morning. Since they are nocturnal they make a good amount of noise, diggin and chewin, so be ready for that.
very easy to care for. they would breed constantly. give em food and water and a clean environment and they will be fine.

Damn Jason, you beat me to it. When I saw the question I just thought of that one Family Guy episode where Peter keeps telling Richard Gere that the easter eggs are hidden up his butt. Then when Peter gives up and walks away a gerbil runs down Gere's leg.
