I hadn't heard that the midshipman toadfish made it up to Seattle harbor. The males call has been a problem for decades in San Francisco bay. Especially for all the people living on houseboats. My ship was in Seattle for 2 years back in '90-'92 and we never heard the midshipman's thrum there.
I agree with Oddball. People apparently also hear Black Drum from land/houseboats during breeding season, too. I'd imagine even more for larger Drum species, like Meagre, if they breed near shore.
