Any one keep Muskie?

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The temperature would be the limiting factor in keeping a muskie in my opinion.

I tried could never get one small enough.... :( my buddy's kept northern Pike in his tank before grew out to about 16 inchs from 4".

I just bought a 9" tiger muskie and put him in my 125 gal cichlid tank. Before I put him in I turned off the heaters and now the temp is about 72 degrees. I had 4 minnows in there as well and he ate all of those. He usually hangs out on the top of the tank and eyes the smaller cichlids. He has made it for 5 days now.

While muskie would be cool to keep. You would have the problem of temperature but also remember this is a fish that gets over 4' long. I've heard of people keeping them in outdoor ponds with channel cats and large carp. But never one indoors

Cool,we need more details such as where you got it from, did they have many, how much was it, and most importantly, we need pictures....

I kept one years ago in a 100 gallon with a chiller. They like cold moving water in the upper 50's to low 60's. Hence the use of the chiller. Kind of boring to me so I released it back into the lake it came out of after keeping it a year it also outgrew the 100 gallon.

I gought the little guy (about 9") it Richmond fisheries in IL. I was lucky to have such a nice place only 35 min from my home :)
