Got 4 new rams yesterday. For my 60 liter tank. (Hoping to get a pair) do they need sand or is bare bottom tank ok? Do they get more colourful as they grow older? Best food for them?
Thanks 20160706_181936.jpg

Yes bare bottom is fine yes they get more color as they grow and NLS sinking cichlid I've had good results with

My Electric Blue Acara is about the same size as a ram, and has trouble eating 1mm NLS pellets. The rams may be able eat the pellets, but I'm just sharing my experience with a fish around the same size. If the rams at that size can't eat pellets, I would just feed them Tetramin. It's cheap and my fish still show good color.

Is 4 ok in 60l? The only decor I have is what's on the pic, other than quite a lot of live plants should I add more rocks?
It was a breeding tank and if left a few sail fin Molly in there that I missed (3days old) will the Rams eat fry. If not could I use this tank as a fry tank still?

The should be fine bio-load wise, although they may need more space. The rams, like other fish, will eat the fry.

Looks like you planned ahead.
No I have no idea how it got there lol.
I have a large box of fish food :)
I've got a fluval u4 (110l) and sponge filter so that should be ok.maybe I will move out the fry 2moz then.i was just hoping on getting a pair got 4 to give them choice though

Just go ahead and move the fry if you can. Everything else seems fine.

mine always died after a year for some reason, same with gold rams and regular german blues.
