i just bought a TAURUS PT 111 9mm pistol and i was wondering if the barrel should be loose when the slide is locked back? any thoughts?
any one know about guns?

No real first hand knowledge like that of a Navy seal or anything, but my Dad has one, and it is really solid. Hope that helps.
the same kind? by real solid do you mean the barrel doesn't move when it is locked back?

The slide may stick on the frame before going fully
to the rear, or the barrel may ride with it to the rear.
Begin again and
press down with the
finger onto that rear
portion of the barrel
accessible through the ejection port.
When the barrel depresses and locks to the
frame, continue moving the slide fully to the
rear and engage the slide catch lever.

from my limited exp, (not with that gun) no part of the gun is ment to be loose. it's a very delicate instrument.

if you havent fired and feel unsafe doing so take it to a gun shop and have them look at it.the manual said "When the barrel depresses and locks to the
frame" so i would imagine the barrel would move but probally shouldn't be loose.
