Howdy,

I think the pond would have offered a good place for the babies to spend their first weeks. Ponds are rich on small larvae, daphnia, insects, worms, etc. A good and diverse diet for small turtles.

However, ponds also harbor dangers such as rats, dogs, herons etc.

If it is impractical or unsafe to put the babies back into the pond, I recommend to at least check out the pond to get inspired and maybe even catch some fresh food.

Last but not least, I recommend you also consult your local pet store.

so i took them out cause some of the other males where bothering them and i lost one before i made the desicion to remove them...i have them in with live ghost shrimp and some anacharis...small guppy fry was thrown in today and i did observe them eating so i guess all is working well so far...thanks all.

thanks all they are doing great even though still the size of a silver dollar i give them the oppurtunity to swim in the large pond and not just in the shallow tub i house them in...i keep an eye on them as i let them join the adults...they do well catch ghost shrimp and chase baby guppies in the pond. one of the little guys started nipping at the anacahris...so i think doing well indeed...thanks for all the help.
