I bought some of these ching mix mineral stones for my new tank set up. Any of you guys ever tried these out before. I got the idea of a flower horn site i use will remain nameless for purposes of this thread. Any ways they say 1 for 55 two for 100 3 for 150 and so on. My quistion really is how would how even tell or can you even tell by testing the water paramiters if they even do any thing or if it is just some kind of marketing scam. I through one in the filter 65 gallon tank. With roughly 60 gallons of water. Any ways i trust you guys on here more then the other sites i use. Because i have been using this site for like 5 years. Any reviews on these guys. Thanks for your time.

So i have been using them in two different tanks dont know what it realy does. Flower horn people on other sites seem to swear buy this product. Still have no clue how to actually text the water propertys to see what it changes. 63 views no one on here knows?

well this thread got barried and no one ever responded figured i would bump it and c if any one has any insite thanks guys

any time you add minerals to water it raises its hardness. unless your using only RO/DI water for your tanks, i dont see why with normal water changes you would need one for the proper health of your fish.

Thanks for the reply flickr. I never said i needed it or any thing like that. Just wanted to test them out after reading a bunch of fuss about using them with great results ect. I dont c how water changes have to do with any thing thow. im not using them to get rid of amonia or nitrate or anything thow

I think what he was explaining is they are supposed to add minerals and trace elements back into the water. You can test hardness, as itll slightly increase with a product like this.

As for the water changes, your tap water flows hundreds of miles over rocks, through pipes etc. As it does this it picks up minerals and trace elements with the exception of those who use an ro/di which removes all of this.

Ow ok that makes more sence now. I dont do salt water and have never used a ro/di unit and dont really even know what that actually do to the full exstent i just know the salt guys use them. Honestly i dont even know how to test the hardness of water in all the years i have been keeping fish i check my ph, amonia, nitrate, and nitrite levels and thats it. I use prime for metals ect and stability on new tanks and no other chemicals ever. Ow and frickr i re read my responce back it sounded kind of rude i wasnt trying to be.
