When we saved this and 2 other flowerhorns from petland i noticed he had a little more orange on his dorsal fin than the others . He then started turning more orange and white. He lost all the dark flowerhorn colors like he had when we got him and looks like he does in the last posts.Any and all ideas or opinions are welcomed!!thanks again!!!

I think it's the same as your other flowerhorns just a fader. It's pretty common for flowerhorns to fade actually. King Kong Parrots where used somewhere along the lines in breeding alot of FH strains, and that is a trait they pass on to their fry. I for one love faders, some hate them. It's a preference, whatever you like. I think it will be a sweet looking fish. Reason I say it doesn't llook to have red devil in it is because of the mouth, it looks to have the same mouth as the rest of your fish and not the red devil mouth. Get that poor rotkiel outta there though, he will end up as FH food.

My rotkiel is fine!!!He has in there for years with a gold severum,2 green severums, jack Dempsey, Jaguar X trimac hybrids, cuban chiclid, ,salvini,6 other flowerhorns,gold saum,midias, red devil ,4 big parrots and way too many convicts to count. My rotkiel is a mean little guy . I had to move my Golden boy here into a 90 gallon tall because the rotkiel chased him whenever he saw him.

Also if you look at my guy and his sister look at the size difference. He is so thin and she is well a big girl. And he eats just the same amount as she does.

how big of a tank are these 20+ fish in bro?? Once your FH mature a little more you may run into problems. They are still Juvies and haven't developed their attitude yet more than likely.

VittleKing they are in a 125.i now have a pair of flowerhorns in there that just layed eggs. Its happened before and no fish has died or was beaten up.the young female flowerhorns have laid eggs before. There is a little bit of drama in the tank as all tanks normally have. the 2 flowerhorns have a pot full off eggs and they just stay around it now and again chase a fish away but not too much drama. I'm going to separate them into 2 other125's . i just have to find the space.I keep them well feed with massivore delight,grand sumo, chingmix,and other nice foods.They all get along and no one has died in the tank for years.the last time we lost a fish in there was when we had a big wind storm and our electricity was knocked out for almost a week plus and one night our generator stopped working and i had to drive a long ways to find a replacement part and one of my flowerhorns with a broken mouth who normally had a hard time breathing in a fully filtrated tank died.He broke it eating a massivore delight pellet when he was a little fry. ANd yes his mouth always hung out like that.My daughters called him Pokemon because he looked like this Pokemon http://www.geocities.com/pokecrafter/horsea.gif
