Any place to get BIG foam blocks?

I was wondering if you guys know where a person could buy some BIG foam blocks......Like the blocks you get in AC H.O.B. filters but way bigger.....anything of this nature..... I'm looking to upgrade the mechanical filtration on my pond and would like to find a cheaper alternative than buying 2 dozen AC replacement foam blocks......Is there any kind of foam that you could buy in bulk and use safetly??? Like pot scrubbies.....are a cheaper form of bio.....whats a cheaper form of mechanical? ANY IDEAS or insight would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I use a combination of this and Polyfill Quilt batting.
