I'm Where I'm At
I got water backing up into my tub and toilets are not flushing. I have an older house so I have a septic tank. there are 2 cleaning valves coming out of the ground from the house to the septic tank. one valve (valve #1) is right up against the house outside, the other valve (valve #2) is about 60 ft from the house. Then from valve #2 it's another maybe 30 ft to the septic tank.

when I look into valve #1 there is water coming up in it. when I look into valve #2, there is no water.

the water that backed up into the tub slowly drains away so I flushed the toilets and look into valve #2 and there is no water running by.

so it seems the clog is somewhere between valve #1 and valve #2. I stuck a 50 ft water hose into valve #1 to try to unclog or at least reach a clog. the 50 ft hose is able to go all the way in. when I stick a 75 ft hose into valve #1 it either hits the clog or it hits a corner because the main pipe does about a 95-100 degree turn before reaching valve #2

How much should it cost for a plumbing service to snake between these two valves? from what I know it can be between about $100-$200 right?

or anyone that had similar plumbing issues have any input?

I've poured almost a whole bottle of stuff that is for tubs and sinks into both tubs.

then I tried flushing some stuff for toilets but at that point the water backed up again so they didn't flush down. and right now the water is not going down so hopefully later it will slowly drain again and maybe the chemicals will break some of the clog down

I'm just trying to avoid paying someone $150 bucks to come and snake the pipe and clear the clog in about 5-10 minutes

Definitely sounds like a job for Roto-Rooter!

Home depot has an excellent drain cleaner, its in a black bottle in a plastic bag called hair and grease remover, try that.

since my 50 ft hose wouldn't even bottom out in the clean out valves drano was useless

there's no way I could do anything without the right equipment

it was just like I thought. $150 for a plumber to come snake the line. it was a 5 min job.

wutrugonnado?

You should have looked to see if any rental companies had a snake you could have gotten for the day. The Home Depot by me even rents tools out and I'm sure it would have been cheaper than having a plumber do it for you.
