south american puffers from what i've heard can be in a community tank.

Depends on the fish in the "community". Keep in mind, SAPs need regular teeth trimming.

im pretty sure pea puffers, south americans, figure 8s , red eye, and mbu can be kept in a community.. but there's always a risk

Nope he very happy and loves being around other fishes rather then being kept in solitary confinement cause you think he should.

I never stated that mbus should be kept alone although most puffer species should.

I know some ppl that have kept a SAP (single) in a community, but I don't think it is comfortable there. I had 2 mollies that ended up with my 3 SAPs. The SAPs chewed them up overnight.
