Hi,

Anyone playin airsoft/Ram? UK guys?

Airsoft for me, no paintball yet though. I just picked up an Aftermath Kraken AK47. The thing is a beast. It shoots 370 fps in full or semi-auto, and holds like 350 rounds in the mag. It isn't much compared to some of the guns out there, but it's a real step up form my other guns. Now all I need is more people to buy some guns, and then I can set up some awesome tournies:D

Yo... I play airsoft... rep for teams KGB/TFU... live in southampton but play nationally... my local site is Ground Zero.... nationally weekender coming up soon! its normally biggest game in the eu.... Anyone coming down????

I have some airsoft all are terrible except one. its not near as good as most but it is about 300 fps. it is a shotgun and is pretty acurate. the brand is smith and wesson. Nobody has them in brazil:irked:.

I just play locally...scottish borders...my guns wound way too high for most sites, lol. Whats this national weekender?

Not many airsofters in barazil? I felt sorry for you for about a second, till I remembered what fish are swimming about your local stream! I wouldnt have time for airsot if I lived in brazil!!!!!!!

That AK sounds ace...you should buuy some cheapy 120fps crappy things and give em to you mates...pwned!

i've been thinking about it lol. my brother has an AK too, and we have some shotguns (220-330fps) and pistols (200fps) that we used to use, so my friends use those, and yeah, i pwn;)

I'll stay out of my personal opinions here as far as Airsoft goes.. (Not much into toy guns) but will mention my G&P SVD which is very nice for a training rifle. Useless in reliability or accuracy (Absolutely nothing is equal as far as shooting go between a real one and this) but it roughly weights about the same as the real thing and it is useful for handling and scope training. From what I can tell this thing was actually made using some NDM-86 parts (Chinese SVD copy).. Not bad for a toy...

I have involved myself in a couple airsoft matches using this SVD.. (Local police dept. staged events where I was invited to act as an OPFOR sniper / Gunman Terrorist) It ticks me off every time as it has no range, no reliability and no accuracy (Even point blank).. It also ticks me off that My security team and spotter scored more hits on the SWAT guys than myself, And they are not even supposed to get involved in a fire fight unless my position is compromised. With the real thing there would have been a whole bunch more "blue" funerals with almost no interaction with my security team.... Poor realism in all of these exercises.. MILES gear would have more accurately done things and it has much to be desired..

Oops.... guess I sneaked in some personal opinions...

Realism? You never get much realism in exersices...even live fire you know they are not really TRYING to hit you. Its one thing storming a room when you know you get hit you've an hour on the bench, its another when youve just seen your mate peek in and get his head blown off...volunteer to lead the charge? The only way to get realism is to do it for real, and I dont fancy that too much. I'd have to be really really angry and to be honest, if it was my call, thats what artillery was designed for...screw CQB!

Its like shooting at 50yrds, if your looking at it as military training it sucks, if you look at it as a sperate sport its amazing. Same with airsoft, look at it as grown ups playing war and its a riot! The RAM is well intense! You can learn lessons from it like the importance of camoflage, outflanking and fire and MOVE, but your always going to be missing realism when the 'guns' shoot 20m and are defected by leaves as a pose to 1000m and getting you through a breezeblock wall! But then on a saturday I prefer having fun to winding up dead!!! If you want realism holiday in israel! Like everything, its just how you look at it!

I gotta get in touch with my inner monkey!!!!

The exercises I was involved in Where actual SWAT team training, not just blokes shooting at each other for kicks and giggles. Afterwards during the Debrief session there was actually quite the debate about the usefulness of the exercise Both Us and them came to the same conclusion. Aside from running through tactical decision making and maneuver it was not satisfactory. We now use MILES gear (Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System) attached to real weapons. This method allows for lots of noise, lots of confusion, and can be individually programmed to allow for accurate weapons system simulation. This system does have it's drawbacks but is very realistic as a training tool.

I'm just giving my opinion and experience here with the platform in the manner I have used it.. Not really bothering to "knock" those that wish to fire little chunks of plastic at each other for whatever reason.. To each their own on that one...

You used suped up quasar? Now I fancy a go with that!!!!!!
