oh just everything. the hardest thing is knowing what things are, and time management. this is my 3rd week of clinicals and i had 3 pts. a 67 y.o. male with COPD, a 30 MVA with lacerations to the head, electrical burns on the RUE(which he may lose), skin graph on the LLE and a 45 y.o. male with CHF and edema in both legs (who i had to ambulate today) and this is my first year of RN school. not to mention all the meds, and i have to do 3 care plans per pt. i have no idea about all the abbreviations, like TED, SCD and A&Ax3, we have to get our pt info, then learn what we wrote down. we pick up our pt info monday afternood, go home, write up three care plans per pt and a pt database per pt and go to clinicals on wednesday.
this RN school is not meant for people like me. I have a wife and kid and work. talk about stress. i did a survey for the psych teacher. she gave me a form that lists stressors and if you are considered risk for stress. i scored a 625. severe stress level was 300.
i do feel good about today though. did my first foley on a pt and all went well. i may not have volunteered for it if i know he was 5'4", 300lb. so much harder to hit the target when you have leg and belly in the way.
is it ok if i pm you with q's? are you on here frequently. could you possibly check on me q2 and administer DIAZEPAM 20mg p.o. PRN?
