So I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to fish and I'm a little worried about what I'm seeing in my tank right now. In my tank I have a large Red Devil Cichlid, a Blue Jewel Cichlid, a Sailfin Pleco and an Apple Snail. For the time being there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my Snail or Pleco. However, both my Cichlids are acting a bit strange, they're regularily rubbing against various surface in the tank, one of them more than the other. My Red Devil has recently taken a liking to floating near the top of the tank and sitting there rather listlessly. As soon as I open the tank lid though he is immdeately alert and darts away. He's usually a pretty active fish but now spends most of the day hiding in his cave. He also swims around with his fins clamped down. I read up on a few diseases but nothing quite fits and I'm getting frustrated. I gave both Cichlids a salt bath and checked them over for sores and discolouration but found nothing. Both are very bright in colour and there are no tears in either of their fins. Does anyone have any ideas? And should I continue with regular salt baths for the time being? Any info would be appreciated.
