Just because the company is american doesn't mean the products are manufactured in america, and even if they are packaged in america doesn't mean the core parts arnt imported. Tho, i believe this topic is purely academic, if aquaclear was going to create crappy pumps, they'd make crappy pumps no matter where they were produced.
However, if its cheaper to make them in asia, then if anything...they should be better?
if your going to spend 50$ per pump, but it costs 10$ in labor in US ...but only 5$ in china...then there is an extra 5$ on quality control?
You can buy Iwaki pumps with American or Japanese motors, but I believe all the pump-heads are made in Japan. I am pretty sure Little Giant pumps are made in the U.S.A..
I believe Marineland products are manufactured in the US, correct? I know as part of the Spectrum group, they are a global operation, but I think their specific manufacturing is USA.
Hmm, thought of another...Hagen (Fluval, Aquaclear). They do have locations in Europe and Asia, but their manufacturing and corporate headquarters are in Canada.
