i have been looking for p bass for a long time now,a store close to me phoned me today to tell me they had 30 temensis just come in(2inc),i have a mature tank ready, just need as much info as i can get,i have been in the hoby a few years now but i have never keeped p bass,, so any info or tips would be great,,,temp,, ph,,turn over,,plants,,reasurance,,,just want to get it right:nilly: (btw tank is 7*2*3 with 1 GG, 1 clown knife both about 12inc)
yeah i know its like a ghost town in there

Those fish will be eaten by the CK for sure. Put a divider in the tank and make sure it cannot be moved because if its moved...your tems are feeders! Temp should be mid to high 80's (F not Celcius). Research PBass in their forum...there is a lot of info that is very useful to keeping them! If you have any questions just PM me or other PBass owners. Good Luck!

Chris

wow thanks man,,you just might regret offerring me an invite to pm you,i suppose i could open a 4*2*2 to grow them on but that will mean i will not get to see much of them(grow tanks in spare bedroom)

If you feed them well then they'll be able to hang with the ck in 3 or 4 months. Try to pack them with gut loaded guppies two or three times a day. Also try frozen fish foods as well as market shrimp and fish filets. If you have sufficient filtration you don't NEED to do huge water changes, but it won't hurt. You do need good filtration though. You also may want to start them out in a smaller tank. They're easier to feed in a smaller tank as sometimes when they're small they don't like coming out of hiding to come up and get food.

My wife and I have several grow out tanks set up to raise her Pbass. Tems grow a lot faster than other types of Pbass so you wouldn't need them in another tank for very long. We use 60 gallon tanks for this...seems to work out well.

In no time at all they will look like this...
