Hi
new to posting here, I am a fan of the thorichthyd genus , but for a few years now i ahve been troubled by how similar some species are. I have tried to get some aureus a couple times now. I think i finlly have som e but some pics i posted at CRC have folks saying ellioti. I got them form LFS through Don Conkel and to me they are the most aureus looking thorichthys i have seen yet. I'll post some pics later on
I currently keep some pasiones, then I have two groups of fish i got as aureus, one i think may be aureus and the other i think is ellioti. The ellioti are not very well colored up yet , but i do ahve some pics of those as well. I jsut have to upload thme to my photobucket yet
Hoping to hear fomr all you thorichthys peeps!

Thanks
Tim

My pair of ellioti bred like rabbits until the male decided to kill the female. He now has the rest of the tank cornered at one end-this includes a 9-10 Datnoid, adult polypterus and other bigger fish! Hes stunning but will be going soon.

I have meeki and ellioti. I love thorichthys! I want to own aureus and pasiones one day.

I had a 5" female Elliotti that was too aggresive and had to be removed.

Well I had to cull my " aureus" which i think were just really ice maculipinnis , since the river system that was give as a collection point is no where near aureus range , and my pasiones as well . I had an outbreak of Lymphocystis , and was not willing to risk keeping any fish form any tank that had it.
I have recently picked up , T "mixteco golds", T ellioti, and T socolofi groups , as well as a long T affinis. Once i get all these fush settled in and move some tanks around i might try ro get back out there and hunt down some T Aureus " gold / Rio Copan", as well as T pasiones and the Rio Subin strain of meeki .
I missed out on a shot at som e T callolepis , and some Rio Subin strain meekis too at a recent fish show .
Anyone out there have some of the species i am seeking, are they currently spawning ? etc etc
Also would be great to see more pics of these less often seen species as well
Thanks
Tim

Wow if I ever had a chance at callolepis I'd jump on it in a heartbeat. Don't ever see them around.

I currently keep pasionis from Rapps and a firemouth from an lfs around here. I'd love to get my hands also on some helleri, mixteco blues and golds and socolofi. :)
