hey guys...i have got a common pleco and it is always sucking on my catfihs' back...my question is can i get rid of him, but still have something to clean my tank...besides an algea scrubber. thanks...

At a certain point many commons no longer will be effective algae eaters. Several ancistrus species are good choices, as are otos and snail and shrimp.

depends how big your catfish are. Many of the best "algae eaters" are 6-8" maximum, and many are much smaller

Also, pleco often go after the slime coat on other fish if they are hungry. You might not be feeding him enough bulk foods like zuchini. Try increasing his diet a little and he may well leave other fish alone.
