Hello everyone,

I am anxiously awaiting my shipment of three 3" kelberi coming from Jeff Rapps. I know they are eating frozen blood worms, but wanted to see if there are any other tips for acclimating.

What should I have my temp set at?

What is the best way to acclimate fish without a drip system?
Thanks for any help in advance. I just want to make sure I fp this right. I have never received fish in the mail before.

This is how I did mine from Rapps. Temp at 84, floated them in the tank and used an eye dropper to put water in the bag. I did this every 15 minutes for 2 hours. It takes some patience. I have aquarium salt in the tank also(very little). I hope this helps. I feed them blood worms in the AM and feeder guppies in the afternoon and blood worms in the evening if they will eat them. Most times they will take just a few in the PM. Good luck brother and enjoy! My tank is now at 86. The Pros here will let you know if you need anything else!

Thanks so much for the great info. They just got here and I have my wife following this protocol to the tee. They are much smaller than we thought and we are now worried about the 9" aro getting them when they get out of the bag. Likewise the aro would be possibly vulnerable to my dat in the big tank. I sould have taken off work for this lol.

DO NOT PUT THEM IN WITH THE ARRO. IT WILL BE A BAD THING! You will need to keep them seperate or all will be gone. Put a divider in the tank if you can. Trust me they will be gone!

ya, dude, no-go with the aro. if you have to, put the aro in w/ the dat and divide it. but how big is the dat? It must be huge to eat a 9" aro.

Honestly, I just floated the bag for a minute or two then dumped the fish out. No issues.

I'm making an emergency trip home now. Gonna stop by the pet store and try to get a divider for the big tank. The day is only about 11" but the silver is so delicate at 9".

HAHAHAHAHA ROTFLMFAO. I am the same way bro!:ROFL::ROFL: But hey to each his own. I figure all the extra work is just time that could have been spent letting him getting used to his surrounding's and new tank mates. Oh well. :D

get another tank maybe a 20gl use your other tanks water, dont risk it with an aro or dat

I'm glad someone else doesn't go crazy with drip ****. I'm kinda the middle ground. I let it sit for a good 20 min, then add some water from the tank in the bag twice about 10 min apart and then net em out. Never had a problem. I almost wanna say it seems like the whole 2 hour drip process would stress the fish more than just getting them in the tank.
