hey all i have a bit of a dilemma, i picked up/rescued a 13 inch red oscar from a lfs last week, i really like his personality and colouring and my aro doesnt like him. the aro is 14-15 inch and has killed a couple of tank mates (new additions that were dispatched by the next day when i got home from work) although he is still sharing his side of the now divided dd 300g with two midas 10 and 6 inch, a 12 inch gibbi and a 18 inch wyckii catfish. he seems to leave the midas alone because they turn to face him, he ignores the cats. over the divider is the oscar and my 12 inch suncat, the suncat is an open water swimmer and never hides which the aro dislikes aswell now it seems....

will he get over his hatred if i let him get used to them behind the divider, will his aggression lessen after his adolescent stage is over? any tips on how to comm him with the oscar, its not like i can add somewhere for him to get away due to the aro's shape, would really like to keep these two....

what i know aro is quite stubborn ... when he doesnt like any tankmate then he wont ever settle down .... :(

Hopefully he calms down, when you dig around on the Internet there are quite a few nasty Asians that need to live alone due to murdering tankmates.

I have a 26" crossback that has stearted to become a monster. Ive had a few that turn into jerks and either get there own tank or i have to sell them. Its a shame they are usually the nicest ones to look at but its hard to have a giant tank with one fish

its a shame yes, if he goes all out and beats the midas too he will have to go to my friends aro pond, he wont pick on anyone in there!-)

maybe, its 7ft long, 2 ft high and 34 inch front to back about 296 us gallon.
