I'm pretty sure I've researched enough to do it right. But let me know if I missed anything.

1) remove all of the old seal. Leave the silicone between the panes intact.

2) clean with acetone or alcohol to make sure it's really clean so the silicone will adhere

3) tape off my lines (only gonna tape the sides. Don't care about the bottom seam.

4) run one continuous seam

5) use fingers to smooth it out and push it into the corners

6) remove tape and let cure

PS- I will be using GE silicone 1

Thanks. Does it matter if I don't tape off the bottom and only the sides?

No it doesnt matter Ive never taped off any. The taping just makes clean up easier. You seem to have it all figured out. The best advice I can think of is put a small fan in the tank to help blow out the silicone fumes, those fumes will almost knock you out. Good luck with it resealing is really quite simple once youve done it a time or two.
