An island somewhere......
I've browsed old threads to look for this topic and after 4 pages, I decided to post my own question.

My WC discus are currently eating live blackworms, and tricks to switching them off live to frozen blookworms? I'm assuming I need to ween them off live to frozen, then off frozen to prepared foods (i.e. flakes, pellets, etc.).

Any tricks or just do the old starving technique?

have you tried freeze dried blackworms? non of the fuss of live and all the protien. far better than bloodworms. I have wilds and it took a while before they would take flake, and the only flake they will eat is prime reef. I only give my discus bloodworms a couple of times a week.

When I was feeding mine live...it took forever. I offered flake everyday, but it was several days before they would actually eat. Very stubborn fish!!

Don't feed them for a day or two. Then feed then in small amounts. Over time they should grow a hunger for it. It may take some time, but if they're hungry they'll eat............

House64, you and I on the same boat :) Mine love blackworms more then other foods. Recently, I feed them some granules in the morning, they eat very slow and some refuse it. I tried BH and Flakes, but they not even bother to touch it hahaha I don't think they know it's food.

I guess I'm screwed too! I've been giving my wilds live blackworms for a few months now. I doubt I'll ever get them to eat anything else. I don't really mind though, since live blackworms are a good food for them. And when I need more, I get them delivered overnight to my doorstep :)

you're not screwed. They love blackworms and fun to feed them. Plus they grow faster and not foul water that much.
