Any truth to this?

I seem to remember being told that people have caught either P.senegalus or P.delhezi in South Florida. I cant remember who told me this, as it was a looooong time ago, but does anyone know if there is any truth to it?

A few polypterus delhezi were found in a canal in South Florida in 2001. They were either released by an aquarist or escaped from a fish pond. I don't believe there are any established breeding populations of the fish in Florida.

I think I heard something about someone finding a del in Florida maybe on here I think
