Lunacy. BUT...good for the thousands of poor turtles that would have been sold in the future to uneducated owners attempting to please children.

Not to turn this all political but that's the typical government, whether it be county, state or federal...........that's SAVING ourselves from ourselves.

Thanks a bunch. I'll sleep better now when I'm visiting Nashville.

Wait? What's that? All this could be easily avoided if you just wash your hands after handling anything turtle related? That can't be right, that makes too much sense.

Did you guys here that chicken products can carry salmonella too?! Why hasn't anyone done something about this terrible threat!? We need to ban McDonald's chicken nuggets and all grocery stores that sell poultry ASAP!

Wow, "turtle" includes all chelonians. So no pet turtles, tortoises, or terrapins. I know TN is crazy about their box turtles and I could understand banning their ownership to protect wild populations, but the rest...

^That's really the only thing this law is going to help. This law will probably help to stop some people from bringing home a "cute wittle turtle" that they found crossing the road. Still, I think many people will be unaware they are breaking the law.

This went under the radar and was not picked up by USARK. There is no doubt that this was intentional. I agree that there was some third party behind this. Either PETA or HSUS.
