Hey everyone,

Im thinking about purchasing either a lizard or a snake. In the lizard world ive had leos, skinks and a savanah monitor. Im debating between ackies or a corn snake.

So far i think corn snakes have the upper hand since they are cheap, tons of them at the white plains expo and the best part...is i dont have to deal with feeding them crickets.

However i prefer lizards over all...especially monitors. I will be building a 24 x 15 x 15 inch cage just as a grow out for an ackies monitor or possibly a home for a corn snake. Here are my questions:

-any breeders of ackies monitors here?
-any well known breeders that frequent reptile expos?
-are they better alone or appreciate a companian?
-if bought from a hatchling...well fed...to what size and how long estimate will this cage be too small?

Thanks also if i do decide to go with the ackies i will eventually build a 4 foot x 2 foot x 2foot.

Also leaning towards yellow ackies instead of the red...

As for the ackies, pm A. gigas. He has been obsessing over them for the last two years, and can point you in the right direction. Trust me, he is obsessed. I have to listen to it 24/7.
