We have around 8 of the rhino's ranging in size from 2.5 to 9 inches and would like to try and breed them does any body do and how or is it possible. We love these things never seen anything clean a tank like them.

I personally have never read about anyone spawning these fish.

They would most likely need a big pond and have to be over a foot to be good to go

Do you know how big they can get because we thought they maxed around 11 inches.

I have seen them traded in at over a foot. I don't know exactly how much bigger they get. I never kept one.

That is what we had read too at that size I would think a person should be able to breed them. There is not alot of info on them out there but we sure like ours 1 about 5 inches keeps our 230 clean.

PC has the max size listed at about 11" SL:

Again unreported breeding.

Truth is PC needs to update a crap load of max sizes. You can't use most of those these days. Plus SL is not with tail just body. Go through most of the bigger plec species you will see lots that need to be updated. I'm not sure about smaller plecs be ause I have no experience with them.

What he said, they won't breed in home tanks

PC is way off on lengths. My biggest was 13 inches, others have reported up to 16 inches.

At these bigger sizes are they still eating algae off the glass or do they get lazy like the sailfin. Alsoheard they need a fair amount of protien in their diet is that true.
